The City of Laval will begin its second snow blowing operation of the season on Sunday, January 19, in the evening.
This is explained by the accumulation of nearly 15 cm of snow on the ground, as well as precipitation of 2 to 4 cm forecast this weekend.
City teams will remove the snow, starting with boulevards, priority sectors, dense residential neighborhoods, sidewalks and narrow streets.
Due to the significant cold snap expected during the night from Saturday to Sunday, spreading will also be carried out in advance to secure the road network before the start of operations.
The City takes this opportunity to remind you that parking restrictions will be in effect for the sections on which snow blowing is planned, and will change throughout the duration of the operations. Citizens can also consult the Info-Parking application or subscribe to automated notifications on the City’s website in order to be informed of the restrictions in force.
Collaboration requested
The municipal body is also asking for the collaboration of the population on the sidelines of this snow blowing operation.
Motorists should park 30 cm from the sidewalk to allow sidewalk tractors to pass, while leaving enough space for emergency vehicles.
-Collection bins should instead be placed on the ground, at the end of the entrance, and not in the street or on the sidewalks.
Finally, citizens are invited not to throw snow in the street and keep it on their property. (N.P.)
