Casio’s GM-5600 series has been a fan favorite for decades, since its launch in 1983. Now, a new collaboration with Los Angeles-based fashion brand C2H4 is set to reimagine this classic model with a whole new twist, and its release is scheduled for January 9th.
The “Space Age” edition of the GM-5600 is inspired by the iconic design movement of the 1960s. It features a silver stainless steel bezel, a translucent gray resin strap with red markings and a dial with a retro-futuristic design. The LED backlighting is also very interesting: it illuminates a red graphic representing the Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport.
Collectors and enthusiasts will appreciate the exclusive packaging of this watch. The watch is presented in a retro-inspired case inspired by the shape of ATC’s Genie phone. Part of the GM-5600 series, this edition is expected to retain branded features such as 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, and a full automatic calendar.
This collaboration is in line with previous C2H4 projects on similar themes. The brand brings a new perspective to G-Shock’s heritage with unique designs, thanks to celebrity endorsements. The GM-5600 ‘Space Age’ will be available starting January 9 at c2h4losangeles.com and gshock.casio.com/us availability in offline stores will follow on January 11. Prices have not yet been revealed.
