After years of waiting, the iPhone 17 is finally about to include this coveted professional feature.

Tl;dr

  • The new iPhone 17 could finally offer a high refresh rate.
  • Non-Pro models could include ProMotion displays.
  • Additional improvements are expected, including a new A19 chipset and a 24MP selfie camera.

A high refresh rate for the iPhone 17

According to the latest rumors from the supply chain, the highly anticipated iPhone 17 could finally fill a gap that Apple users have been pointing out for years. Indeed, it seems that the non-Pro models of the iPhone 17 could offer a “high refresh rate”instead of getting stuck at a modest 60 Hz.

ProMotion technology, which offers a refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, was until now reserved for Pro models. However, according to analysts, this functionality could be extended to other models. If this information turns out to be accurate, it means that iPhone 17 users will be able to benefit from increased responsiveness and a much smoother viewing experience.

A range of expected improvements

Besides the potential ProMotion integration, the iPhone 17 is expected to bring many other improvements. It is almost certain that the phone will be equipped with a new A19 chip, which should offer better performance and increased power efficiency. Among other rumors, we are also talking about the arrival of a first 24 MP selfie camera on iPhones, and a possible iPhone 17 Air, thinner and lighter.

The Pro models, meanwhile, could benefit from a new “Low-Dialectric TEE” screen, which improves display performance and durability while optimizing energy efficiency. They would also retain their titanium frame for added durability and could even see their RAM increased to 12GB for higher AI capabilities.

There’s still a lot to find out about the Apple iPhone 17 series, but we’ll keep you updated with all the latest news and rumors on our site.
