She feared losing her license, and increased the risks behind the wheel of her vehicle to escape the police. In the end, this twenty-year-old driver will not only lose it, but will also spend several months with an electronic bracelet. On December 20, on the A40 in the Chamonix-Geneva direction, the young woman was spotted by a police patrol, traveling at a speed estimated between 180 and 190 km/h and “dangerously” hitting other cars, reports the Bonneville motorized platoon (F).
The police then tried to intercept her, but after an apparent slowdown after leaving the highway, the driver suddenly changed direction to escape the police. In her escape, she notably forced motorists to maneuver to avoid her.
Near Bonneville, she found herself trapped in a dead end by an interception device. But she again refused to comply, rushing towards a gendarme, who had to throw himself onto the sidewalk to avoid being hit. Continuing her mad rush, with significant risks for other users, she ended up being arrested around ten minutes later.
The recalcitrant motorist was sentenced to nine months in prison, placed under an electronic bracelet. His driving license was canceled for at least six months, and his vehicle was confiscated. “Such behavior endangers the lives of users and cannot go unpunished,” underlines Major Christophe Mauduit.
