The 7 most anticipated video games of 2025

2025 is likely to be a memorable year for fans; it announces big releases in terms of video games and this risks marking an entire generation.

The year 2024 has not been good for the video game industry; apart from a few releases such as Astro Bot, on PS5or the DLC Elden Ring : Shadow of the Erdtreewe were not treated to any impressive titles. In 2025, we will certainly not be in the same boat. And for good reason, many titles have already been announced, promising something new for all gamers around the world. It will be the release year for video games that we have been waiting for for a long time, from GTA VI to Death Stranding 2.

Grand Theft Auto VI: the most anticipated game of the year

We've been waiting for this sequel for years. In 2024, Rockstar Games revealed a very interesting trailer, revealing the impeccable graphics and some key elements of the game. Other than that, nothing else. But in the opinion of the publisher's manager, the game is worth the wait. Scheduled to be released on consoles in fall 2025, this sixth opus risks experiencing unprecedented success, if all the ingredients are present.

The game takes place at Vice Citya more than realistic inspiration from the city of Miami, Florida. The main character is a woman, Lucia. This will be the first time in the history of the license. But the latter will be well supported by her husband, since the plot follows a very close couple.

As of today, GTA VI is scheduled to release on PS5 and Xbox Series. Maybe it's time to upgrade to the new version.

Assassin's Creed Shadows: the assassins arrive in Japan

The 14th^e part of the Assassin Creed license will be there in 2025. Planned to be a Valentine's Day giftthis opus of the cult license takes us back to feudal Japan. A very special period with the famous samurai. Despite the numerous controversies following the release of the trailer, Ubisoft does not intend to change anything in the plot.

For this opus, two assassins are playable: Yasukethe famous black samurai and Naoea female ninja. In this game, Ubisoft uses two different combat styles: brute force and discretion coupled with the skill of the shinobis.

Death Stranding 2: a burst of pride from Hideo Kojima

It's been six years since Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 1 was released. The quality and the intrigue dazzled us so much that we didn't notice the time had passed. In 2025, we will extend the pleasure with Death Stranding 2 : On the Beach. The single-player action game makes us embody Sam who embarks on a journey to prevent the extinction of humanity.

At the moment, the game does not yet have an official release date, but it is not expected to be postponed beyond 2025. It will be released on PS5.

Doom: The Dark Ages: Last Hope of a Kingdom in Peril

First person shooter, Doom : The Dark Ages is the eighth mainline game in the Doom franchise. The plot takes place in the Middle Ages. Here again, we play as Doom Slayer. The great adversary of demons will have to do everything possible to ensure the survival of his kingdom.

Ghost of Yōtei: In the Last Days of Feudal Japan

Action video game Ghost of Yōtei made suite à Ghost of Tsushima and takes place 300 years later the latter. It takes place more precisely in 1603, the last days of feudal Japan. The goal is to enjoy all the fun of team play.
