Need a smartphone that’s not too expensive, but packed with features? The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is a good candidate, especially now that its price drops from 449 euros to just 259 euros thanks to this offer.
Motorola is making a comeback in the smartphone sector, with its new range of smartphones, Edge 50, available in three models, including the Pro that we tested. With this series, the brand hopes to overtake Xiaomi and become number 3 in the smartphone market in France. In the meantime, it is clear that its Edge 50s have many advantages. For example, the Edge 50 Fusion model presents a muscular technical sheet, with a screen refreshed at 144 Hz, an efficient Snapdragon chip or even fast charging at 68 W. If this model tempts you, know that it costs almost 200 euros less.
Why choose the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion?
- For its elegant design
- Its pOLED panel refreshed at 144 Hz
- Its high-performance chip: Snapdragon 7s Gen2
- And its fast charging at 68 W
Instead of 449 euros, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is currently on sale at 259.85 euros on the pccomponentes site.
An elegant smartphone with a smooth screen
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is a particularly elegant smartphone with its sober slate gray color that is not found everywhere on the market, its matte back, its flat edges or even its curved screen. We feel that the brand did not want to neglect the design of its smartphone, even if it does not belong to the premium category. The other finishes have also been taken care of: the smartphone weighs only 175 grams and its thickness does not exceed 7.9 mm, which makes this model a pleasant device in the hand. Another strong point of this design, its IP68 certification ensures it is resistant to splashes and dust.
This Edge 50 Fusion also gives us the benefit of a 6.7-inch Full HD+ pOLED screen, which therefore offers excellent image quality, with the infinite contrasts and deep blacks that characterize this display technology. And to top it all off, this panel is entitled to a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The fluidity offered by this screen therefore promises to be exemplary. The color palette should also be particularly wide and rich since the screen covers 100% of the DCI-P3 spectrum.
Promising performance
In the bowels of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, there is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is also found in the Xiaomi Poco X6. Here it is supported by 8 GB of RAM. Suffice to say that it should run classic tasks (web browsing, gaming applications, multitasking) without latency. Everything is complemented by 256 GB of storage. On the interface side, Android 14 is in place. And regarding its updates, note that this smartphone will be followed on three major versions of Android, which is few compared to what the competition can offer. As for its photo part, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has a 50 Mpx Sony Lytia main module with optical stabilization and a 13 Mpx ultra wide-angle. The brand promises that the main sensor is capable of offering better sensitivity in low light and better rendering of details, thanks to a system of “double layer transistor pixel structure”. At the front, a 32 Mpx selfie sensor has been inserted.
Finally, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion contains a 5,000 mAh battery, which should allow it to last at least a day and a half. We will especially remember the fast charging at 68 W thanks to which it is possible, according to the manufacturer, to gain a day of autonomy in 15 minutes of charging. We cannot confirm this information, since we have not yet tested this smartphone, but it is rather attractive…
