Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series has seen its specifications https://news.mydrivers.com/1/1019/1019858.htm thanks to an accidental leak from one of the AIC brand partners. VideoCardz caught wind of this leak through cached search engine results, and the details point to substantial updates, particularly with the move to GDDR7 memory.
The leaked lineup includes five cards: the RTX 5090, RTX 5090D, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070. Although the manufacturer’s website didn’t show these details, some leaked listings gave a lot information on these upcoming GPUs.
Here’s the gist: The RTX 5090 and its variant, the RTX 5090D, are said to come with 32GB of GDDR7 memory on a 512-bit bus. This is an improvement over the RTX 4090’s 24GB of GDDR6X memory on a 384-bit interface. These two models are supposed to contain 21,760 CUDA cores and meet a power limit of 600W.
Interestingly, the RTX 5090D would offer the same gaming performance as the regular RTX 5090, but with weaker AI capabilities, something we’ve already seen with other “D” variants in the current lineup .
For mid-range gamers, the RTX 5080 is built on the GB203-400 GPU core and offers 10,752 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus, and a consumption of 400W. The RTX 5070 Ti also has 16GB of GDDR7 memory, but now only has 8,960 CUDA cores and draws 285W, which is easier to manage.
The RTX 5070 completes the list. It has 6,400 CUDA cores, 12GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 192-bit bus, making it the entry-level option in this group, for now.
Some cards we expected, like the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060, don’t appear in this leak. Rumor has it that these cards will hit the market later, perhaps during the second quarter. The RTX 5080D also doesn’t appear, despite earlier rumors announcing it, but appears to have been discontinued.
Nvidia will kick things off at CES 2025, where the RTX 5090, 5090D, and 5080 are expected to debut. The RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 should follow later.
