It’s something that has gone under the radar, but the Charlevoix Mobility Corporation has changed its name. The organization that manages public transportation and paratransit is getting a facelift with a new image and a refined name. We are now talking about Charlevoix Mobility.

“In a diagnosis of our communications that we had carried out at the beginning of 2024, we were told that we needed something simpler so that people did not get lost,” explains the general director of Mobilité Charlevoix, Alexandra Simard.

The new brand image places emphasis on the “é” in the word “mobility”. “The accent is rounded. It represents a bit like the end of a transportation line on a map,” mentions Ms. Simard.

The new colors will be integrated gradually. They appeared on the organization’s social networks and will soon appear on all vehicles. “We keep the green, pink, blue and orange colors on the different vehicles […] People associate vehicle colors a lot with the service they receive, we reassure them in a certain way,” says Ms. Simard.

An investment of approximately $15,000 was necessary. The organization does not yet have a set date for finalizing these changes, but it would ideally like everything to be completed by the end of 2025.

There are many projects in the coming years for Mobilité Charlevoix. Alexandra Simard says her team is working on adjusting schedules, restructuring its interregional circuit and redesigning its website.

The implementation of new technology to ensure better management of operations is also in the pipeline. “We currently have to place reservations the day before on our software because it is not real time. […] The new technology would be useful for us as well as for our drivers as well as for our users,” indicates the director of Mobilité Charlevoix. She understands that this technology would be expensive, “but I think Charlevoix is ​​there. All organizations are seeing the possibilities of making the shift,” she adds.

Ms. Simard also believes in the relevance of strategic planning within three years, at the end of the first five years of the structuring transportation network.
