The problem? The report, broadcast on the program “Schweiz Aktuell”, used unflattering terms, such as “Fusel” (“piquette”, in French), which provoked the ire of the SSR mediation body , who judges that the principle of objectivity has not been respected.

To make matters worse, the show also used the word “panschen”, often translated as “cutting water”. Here again, the precision leaves something to be desired, since it turns out to be completely false. The winemaker in question had mixed wines, but without adding water.

Result? Two complaints landed on the SSR office. If the chain’s mediation body validated the criticism of the term “Fusel”, which it considers to be an offense to the quality of the wine, it on the other hand defended the use of “panschen”, arguing that the verb can also refer to a fraudulent mixture of wines.
