Officially available for a few days, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle seems to delight players with a successful proposition that perfectly respects the universe of the films.
There is hope for a sequel!
In an interview with Variety, Douglas Reilly, vice president and general manager of Lucasfilm, suggested that the game's potential success could not only mark a success for year-end sales on Xbox, but also pave the way for a broader video game franchise based on Indiana Jones.
For now, we're focused on getting this project out to the public, the DLC, and making it as successful as possible. I think we're always looking for big stories. And the good news is there's a lot of space between the films where we could tell more and more Indiana Jones stories that I think would be super interesting.
As we know, the story of Indiana Jones and the Elder Circle takes place between the films Raiders of the Lost Ark et The Last Crusade. However, the game is obviously not totally “canon” at the moment. cinematic universe d’Indiana Jones.
The concept of a canon is very complex. This is an authentic story that takes place between the two films. We work closely with the studio and franchise management.

Even if the question of whether the game is canon to the Indiana Jones universe is visibly complicated, the hope of a sequel obviously remains quite possible in view of Douglas Reilly's statements.
Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be released on PS5 in spring 2025. Next year will also mark the arrival of a major story DLC called The Order of Giantsa good opportunity to get back into the game.
