Louis Erard is never short of ideas when it comes to collaborations, and this time, it's once again with Vianney Halter that he strikes a big blow. After the success of The Regulator Louis Erard x Vianney Halter in 2020, the two creators are doing it again with a revisited version which this time dives into the steampunk universe, for a The Regulator II which will make more than one salivate.
Steampunk comes to the dial
If you like avant-garde design with a retro-futuristic touch, then you will love this model. Vianney Halterthe maestro of unique watch design, draws inspiration from his masterpiece theAncientan already legendary watch, to give a new face to this regulator. Result: angular shapes, rivets everywhere, and a metal aesthetic that seems straight out of a 19th century science fiction film. If the first collaboration had emphasized modernity, this model II plunges directly into an assumed steampunk style, with a dial split dial (separate hours, minutes and seconds) and a super worked dial which gives pride of place to textures and metallic finishes. All with blue needles which recall Halter’s know-how.
A box that impresses
Size side, Louis Erard and Vianney Halter are not subtle. With its 43mm in diameter and 10.95mm in thickness, the watch is rather imposing. It has charisma, but remains well within the standards of current luxury watches. The rivets on the case, Halter's almost immediate signature, give the watch an industrial but chic side, a bit as if you were wearing a piece of machine from the future. The asymmetry of the dial, which slightly shifts the movement, adds an even more original touch. Add to that a circle of rivets PVD 5N rouge-gilt around the crown, and you have a watch that is sure to get noticed.
Limited edition, and not for everyone
For this collab, Louis Erard decided to strike hard by releasing two models, one exclusively online, the other reserved for physical stores. Both versions are limited to 178 pieces eachjust to maintain exclusivity. The prices, although a little higher than for the first version, remain relatively accessible for a watch of this quality: 4 100 € (or approximately 4,444 CHF). Not cheap, but compared to other designer models, it's almost a bargain.
The Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Vianney Halter II is a watch that will turn heads, especially if you are a fan of bold designs and exclusive pieces. The marriage between the steampunk side and contemporary watchmaking creates a result that is both elegant and funky.
