After the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, Samsung began rolling out its One UI 6 Watch interface to the previous models, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5.

Last week, Samsung told us that the deployment phase of One UI 6 Watch for its connected watches would finally begin. A deployment which initially only concerned the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic last year. However, we did not have to wait long before the update was made available for the manufacturer’s previous watches.

Indeed, as reported by the site Android Policeseveral users received the update to One UI Watch 6 on their Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro this Wednesday. Furthermore, the site Sam Mobile indicates that the deployment has also started for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

For now, however, it seems that priority for updating to One UI 6 Watch is given to users who have participated in the update beta program in recent months.

New features with Wear OS 5

With this update, all Samsung connected watches based on Wear OS can now benefit from the One UI 6 Watch interface, based on Wear OS 5. Remember that this version was launched with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, launched during the summer.

The update to One UI 6 Watch will allow you to benefit from better autonomy management, the new Samsung energy score or a new format for managing dials.

A newer security patch for Samsung watches

Furthermore, this update will also allow the different watches to benefit from a much more up-to-date security patch, that of October 2024. It must be said that the last security patch offered on previous generation Galaxy Watches dated back last March.

The update of Samsung watches to One UI 6 Watch should be deployed to all users in the coming days.
