Techno rankings: the big brands, from the best to the worst

Technology is evolving at a breakneck pace, and the Protégez-vous magazine team looked at the best purchases in electronic products, as well as the worst ones to avoid.

So the team carefully evaluated tablets, smartphones, TVs, headphones, fitness trackers, laptops, printers and speakers. 3,300 members of its Panel 1 were involved. Result: Apple products are established in several categories, including first place for tablets, smartphones, activity monitors and laptops. The company comes in 3rd place for the quality of its headphones. Its rival Samsung stands out in four categories, obtaining 2e rank for tablets, smartphones, televisions and activity trackers.

However, we note certain weak points while its headphones are rarely defective, but still cause dissatisfaction among users. Fitbit, which manufactures physical activity monitors, displays one of the worst results in the survey in terms of satisfaction: only 56% of respondents recommend its activity monitors. Despite their technical performance, the manufacturers evaluated show poor results in terms of social responsibility.

Marie-Eve Shaffer, journalist at Protégez-vous, indicates that little effort is made to make products sustainable, and most companies have bad practices, such as establishing their subsidiaries in tax havens, which loses points. The results of the survey on the best tech brands are available now on the Protégez-Vous website.
