Finally, the Apple Watch expected at the end of the year could adopt a design relatively similar to previous models. It is once again the journalist of Bloomberg Mark Gurman who claims it in his weekly newsletter, while this same source previously explained to us that the look would be very different. The editor was not the only one to suggest it, so much so that many believed in a possible “Series X” with a sharper chassis. The objective would have been, for the manufacturer, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the range of connected watches, like the iPhone X with mobiles in its time.

Let us note all the same that if the case will continue, it seems, to offer us rounded edgesthis one could be thinner. The screen would be larger, however, going from forty-one millimeters to forty-four millimeters for the smallest or from forty-five millimeters to forty-nine millimeters for the largest. For comparison, this size is also that of the first and second generation Apple Watch Ultra. However, we do not know if this model will be entitled to a successor this year, the same for the Apple Watch SE.

Apple Watch Series 10: Focus on health

In all likelihood, the Apple Watch Series 10 could also come with new health features. It is believed that it will be possible to measure the arterial pressure with the September smartwatches, to perhaps detect hypertension or other heart problems such as arrhythmias. It is also with the future wearable that signs ofSleep Apnea would be recognized. There have also been rumors of a blood glucose monitor under the hood, but this is not expected to arrive on Apple Watch until 2026 at the earliest.

The Apple Watch Series 10 will probably also feature a heart rate sensor, a pedometer, and an always-on altimeter. The watch should also run natively on watchOS 11, which comes with a brand new proprietary app: Vitals. This allows you to track your most important health metrics on a daily basis, and offers advice on how to improve them. Launched at the Worldwide Developer Conference last June, the platform is not the only new app arriving this year at Apple, as it is also the case for a password manager or Image Playground, which creates images using artificial intelligence.

No Apple Intelligence?

Unfortunately, it looks like Apple Intelligence won’t be coming to the Apple Watch Series 10 — at least this year. Cupertino says its suite of AI-powered features requires a certain amount of computing power, which is currently reserved for the M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips on iPads and Macs, or the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will likely be supported, too. Later on, it’s also assumed that mixed reality headsets running VisionOS will get it, including the Apple Vision Pro. But no smartwatch would be eligible, even though Siri already lets you control many features on the Watch.

Again, for the manufacturer, it would all be a question of performance: the next supposed S10 chip would not be powerful enough to support Apple Intelligence. An alternative exists in the form of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch, which embeds Galaxy AI. Powered by Gemini Nano (from Google), the suite of AI features had already been announced for the Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24+ and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

  • Apple Watch Series 10 reportedly adopts design similar to previous models
  • This smartwatch could be released in September
  • The case would still be thinner and the screen larger.
