The opening keynote of WWDC 2024 last June was an opportunity for Apple to certify all its ambitions related to artificial intelligence. Now things are getting clearer: Apple is expected to announce at least one more partnership this fall, and that deal is expected to involve Google Gemini. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman claims this in a newsletter. The additional integration of Google’s generative artificial intelligence into Apple has been the talk of the town for months now, through rumors of all kinds. Apple’s software division boss, Craig Federighi, himself opened the floodgates shortly after the keynote to announce it in half-hearted terms.
In addition to Google Gemini, Apple could also announce an agreement with the firm Anthropic, created in 2021 by former members of OpenAI and responsible for the chatbot named Claude. Meta contacted Apple to integrate Llama, its own AI model into the Apple ecosystem, but the Apple brand immediately refused this request, Mark Zuckerberg’s chatbot not being efficient enough, again according to Gurman .
As a reminder, Apple Intelligence should be launched in its beta form this fall. The Bloomberg journalist announces in his newsletter that Apple would like to make this tool a source of direct income. Thus, the companycould possibly” deploy some Apple Intelligence features on a subscription-only basis.
