the essential
Despite the rain over the weekend, the 2nd Guinguette was able to bring together the people of Limoux around the winegrowers, staff and members of the board of directors of the cooperative winery, in a friendly atmosphere.
The weather almost spoiled the 2nd edition of the Guinguette organized by Anne de Joyeuse on Saturday June 29. “From 2pm to 4pm, we had heavy downpours, we were afraid that it would harm us”says Maxime Rieutor, marketing manager of the cooperative winery specializing in still wines.
But while some were surely discouraged by this weather that was more autumnal than spring-like, at the end of the afternoon many Limouxins came with their families to enjoy the entertainment offered by the wine cellar. In total, 1,800 tickets were sold, compared to 1,300 for the first edition in 2023.
2,600 bottles sold during private sales
A success also observable at the consumption level. “We sold 2,600 bottles in private sales, and 1,150 bottles were consumed at the bar”notes Maxime Rieutor.
He is especially pleased with the feeling “of cohesion and conviviality” which were shared on this occasion by the people of Limoux and the winegrowers, but also by the sales representatives, the cellar staff and even certain members of the board of directors. “This is exactly what we are looking for, to create a link between our different employees and services, and with the people of Limoux. It is very positive.”
