The Emoji Standard & Research Working Group, its full name, has just submitted a list of 164 new emojis. At least some of these should land on our smartphones from the end of next year.

More precisely, we will know from September 2025 what new emojis will be integrated into Unicode 17.0 and Emoji 17.0. They will be available on both Android and iOS. While waiting to know the lucky ones, we can already appreciate the proposals published by the Unicode Consortium.

Nine particularly attract attention. As you can see in the image below, we have the right to a new expression. It’s a wide-eyed face with a little blush on each cheekbone. Next to him, we find a cloud referring to clashes in cartoons and certain comic strips. Musicians will be able to display their fondness for the trombone, while it will probably be possible to imagine the notion of treasure with a chest filled with gold, jewels and jewels.

Until now, classical dance is symbolized by an emoji displaying two ballet slippers. With this new list, we could have a bonus image of a ballet dancer. Finally, we could also see an orca land, the representation of a landslide, an apple bitten all over or even a hairy creature referring to the famous Yeti.
