Microsoft has just officially acknowledged two major issues affecting the latest Windows 11 24H2 update, particularly impacting gamers and system time management.
If you have installed Windows 11 24H2, you have probably noticed some bugs with this update. The first problem concerns video game audio, particularly when using USB digital audio converters (DACs). According to the support document released earlier this week, users can experience a sudden and unwanted increase in volume to 100% in several situations: when using a Creative Sound BlasterX G6, after putting the system to sleep, or after quickly plugging and unplugging the external audio device.
« This malfunction is related to a synchronization issue in the AudioEndpointBuilder system service “, explains Microsoft. This service is responsible for enumerating, initializing, and activating audio endpoints on Windows.

Bugs are present in the new Windows 11 update
At the same time, a second bug prevents users without administrator privileges from changing the time zone in Windows date and time settings. Fortunately, a workaround exists: users can still make these changes via Control Panel or by running the ‘timedate.cpl’ command from the Run window.
These problems are added to a series of technical difficulties encountered recently by Microsoft. Last week, the company had to pull the November 2024 Exchange security updates following mail delivery issues, and had to fix several bugs causing blue screens on Windows Server 2025.
Microsoft says it is actively working on these issues. “ We are currently investigating these issues and will provide fixes in a future Windows update. », Specifies the company. However, no specific date has been communicated for the deployment of these fixes on Windows 11.
