CAN U17: winners of Libya, the Atlas Lion Cubs are getting closer to qualification

THE Lions of the Atlas emerged victorious in their fourth match in the tournament UNAFqualifier for the next CAN U17. Opposed to Libya during this disputed meeting on the lawn of the El Bachir Stadium in MohammediaNabil Baha’s protégés did the job against the Knights of the Mediterranean, winning with a score of 2 goals to 0. The Lion Cubs of the Atlas took the advantage in the 7th minute thanks to a goal on free kick from Valencia FC midfielder Ismaïl El Aoud. In the second half, Ziyad Baha, Betis Sevilla striker, made the break for Morocco on a penalty which he transformed (62nd), thus scoring his third goal in the competition. Thanks to this victory, Nabil Baha’s protégés are almost qualified for the final phase of the CAN. Only an improbable case of a heavy defeat against Algeria on Saturday, combined with a victory for Egypt against Libya, could deprive the U17 national team of qualification for the CAN. In the event of a victory against Algeria, Yassine Badaoui’s teammates would finish the tournament as leaders of the ranking.
