Google is reportedly working on a system to alleviate travel sickness. This would be integrated directly into Google Play services, which would allow it to be deployed widely.

iOS 18 has integrated a feature intended to reduce motion sickness, especially in cars. To do this, it uses small animated points on the screen which will imitate the movement of the vehicle. The idea is to reduce the conflict between the sensation of being in motion and what your eyes perceive, which often causes motion sickness.

According to Android AuthorityGoogle is reportedly working to integrate a similar feature on Android. If there are already applications in this direction, it would be a native functionality integrated directly into the operating system.

The clues that prove it

To confirm this, our colleagues rely on pieces of code spotted in the Google Play services beta (v24.46.30). More precisely, these are “Strings”, that is to say variables containing a string of characters.

Three of them refer to both “motion sickness” and “movement cues” (Motion cues in English) and aware of “Show movement cues to alleviate motion sickness.”

Good news by the way, if Google does indeed integrate this functionality via Google Play Services, this means that it would be very widely available. It would not only be reserved for the very latest models or the latest versions of Android.
