Xbox has indicated that all games developed by its studios will be available in Xbox Game Pass, but it is clear that this is not forever. Thus, we learn that Content for Midnight club available will be withdrawn from service and sale at the end of the year.
Forza Horizon 4 removed from digital sales and Xbox Game Pass
It’s official, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from digital platforms (Microsoft Store and Steam) on December 15, 2024. This means that the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase on online stores. Xbox explains this “due to licensing and agreements with its partners”.
While we imagined obtaining all of the Xbox games in the Xbox Game Pass catalog, we learn that Microsoft can therefore remove one of them, as is the case with this announcement.
From July 25, the game will be entitled to the final series (series 77) which will include the last Playlist of the festival which will end on August 22. After this date, you will no longer be able to access the Playlist screen, except to view the history. The splash screen will also be changed accordingly. The developers note that you will still be able to access the Forza Events screen which will include a selection of daily and weekly challenges. By completing these challenges and participating in Forzathon Live events, you will earn Forzathon Points to redeem.
The results
Removing a game from sale has consequences on several points that Microsoft has detailed.
- Starting today, June 25, Forza Horizon 4 DLC will be removed from the platform list, meaning only the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate versions of Forza Horizon 4 will be available for purchase from this day and until removal from the game takes place.
- From this date, different discounts for Forza Horizon 4 will be offered, such as the one currently active on Steam. A promotion on the Xbox Store is planned for July 14.
- On December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from stores and Xbox Game Pass. This means that the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase. Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as normal, including offline, online, and multiplayer functions. Physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and be able to use online features.
- If you played Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and purchased DLC content with an active, fully paid (no discount) subscription as of June 25, 2024, you will be eligible to receive a game code if you purchased additional content for Forza Horizon 4 via your Xbox Message Center. Codes will start shipping within a few days, but please be aware that it may take some time to receive it. Unused codes will expire on 06/25/2026.
