An inaccessible masterpiece. Rolls Roycethe automobile manufacturer synonymous with luxury and exclusivity, has once again pushed the boundaries of opulence with the presentation of Arcadia Droptaila unique model.

During the 2022 edition of the Villa d’Este competition in Italythe British automobile manufacturer presented a concept car, a convertible prototype called Boat Tail. Based on this concept, the Goodwood brand has designed four unique models. The first two, named Amethyst and The Black Rosewere revealed in the summer of 2023.

The Arcadia Droptail convertible is thus the third of four unique creations as part of the series “Coachbuild” Droptailwhich perfectly embodies personalization and luxury.

The name “Arcadia” is inspired by Greek mythology, where Arcadia represents a haven of peace and happiness. This choice reflects its Asian owner’s goal of making this car the ultimate relaxation space.

Present at all stages of design, the identity of this client remains confidential.

Refined design and interior

The Arcadia Droptail stands out for its unique nautical design, reminiscent of luxury yachts. The white bodywork, created especially for this model, shimmers under the light thanks to particles of aluminum and glass. The black roof, similar to a floating cap, detaches to reveal a wooden rear section Santos Straight Graina precious material chosen for its exceptional grain.

The interior of Arcadia is a demonstration of Rolls-Royce craftsmanship. Santos Straight Grain wood covers the dashboard, the central tunnel and the partition behind the seats, with a perfect assembly of 233 pieces of wood forming a precise angle of 55 degrees. In total, Rolls-Royce has dedicated 8,000 hours in the manufacture of different pieces of wood.

Protected by a special varnish, this wood is designed to withstand tropical climatic conditions, after 1,000 hours simulations of extreme conditions.

The two-tone upholstery, in white and tan leather, harmonizes perfectly with the wood. The entire interior exudes luxury with details like a clock integrated into the dashboard, which took two years to develop and five months to assemble. This clock is a symbol of the heritage of Rolls-Royce which has developed numerous collaborations with watchmakers. She is decorated with a guilloche pattern 119 facets, in reference to the brand’s 119th anniversary in 2023.

Powerful beauty

Arcadia’s unique paintwork, with aluminum and glass particles, creates a shimmering effect in the sunlight. Unlike other models, the carbon fiber elements were painted silver at the customer’s request. Attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the car, from the body to the cabin.

Although Rolls-Royce does not officially communicate the Arcadia Droptail’s powertrain, it is widely speculated to be a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine developing nearly 600 horsepower. The priority here is luxury and exclusivity rather than pure performance.

With a price around 30 million eurosthe Arcadia Droptail represents the pinnacle of automotive luxury and customization.

The Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail has already been delivered to its owner in Singapore. Although right-hand drive is more common in this country, the buyer requested a left-hand drive to make it easier to use the car internationally.
