Samsung could change half of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s photo sensors. A leaker details this new photo part.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25s are not expected before early 2025, but that doesn’t stop them from getting people talking. The leaker Sperandio4Tech broadcasts via X the list of sensors which should adorn the back of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, information which he holds “of a person from the inside”he explains.
On the Galaxy S24 Ultra, we have four sensors on the rear photo module.
- grand-angle : 200 Mpx, f/1.7, 24 mm, 1/1.3″
- zoom optique x3 : 10 Mpx, f/2.4, 67 mm, 1/3.52″, 3x optical zoom
- zoom optique x5 : 50 Mpx, f/3.4, 111 mm, 1/2.52″, 5x optical zoom
- ultra grand-angle : 12 Mpx, f/2.2, 13 mm, 120˚, 1/2.55″
Samsung would choose to modify two of them on its Galaxy S25 Ultra. The chosen ones would be the ultra wide-angle sensor and the x3 telephoto lens.

Three 50 Mpx sensors and a 200 Mpx main
The first would be replaced by a new version of the 1/2.76″ JN1 sensor, which is slightly smaller than the Galaxy S24 Ultra sensor, but which would increase the definition of the camera to 50 Mpx.
For the second – the 3x telephoto lens – Samsung would opt for a new 1/3″ ISOCELL sensor. It would be larger than that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and would also increase the resolution to 50 Mpx.
Three 50 Mpx sensors and a 200 Mpx main one, this is what the photo part of the Galaxy S25 Ultra could give if we are to believe Sperandio4Tech. This new information confirms other information. In May, we relayed the words of the leaker Ice Universe who had made the same observation about the four sensors of the S25 Ultra, without detailing them as here.
An S25 Ultra only in Snapdragon
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected in early 2025. A priori it would be generally launched with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and no Exynos 2500, Samsung encountering production problems with its own SoC. It would include up to 16 GB of RAM, an amount of RAM that Samsung had abandoned since the S21 Ultra. The manufacturer’s needs in terms of AI must not be unrelated to this change.
