Google launches Android 15 Beta 3: many new features towards stability
Android 15 Beta 3 is coming, the release that brings platform stability to Android 15. This means that the current Android 15 beta is now in the final stages of testing, with the stable version debuting more and closer. Let’s see what’s new in this new update:

More news for the volumes panel
With Android 15 there are some interesting new features for the interface dedicated to the audio volume panel , the one that appears when you press the physical volume button and then open the context menu by selecting the three horizontal points under the cursor. Indeed, the volumes panel can no longer be collapsed at the graphical interface level. It will therefore be possible to manage the volume of the different audio sources in a personalized way from the extended panel. Additionally, with this new update, Google removes the labels indicating the categories of connected devices in the volumes panel. You will then find all the audio devices activated for volume management in the same list.

The vigilant screen
With Android 15 comes the Alert Screen feature. This is the option that allows the screen to automatically turn off if the user is not looking at it, regardless of the duration set by the user. This feature requires activation of the front camera (Google assures that no images will be stored in the cloud or on the device), and could negatively impact battery life. The new option can be found in the Screen Off section in Android 15 settings.

The screen saver with home automation controls
Among the most interesting new features of this new Android 15 update, we find the new screen saver which allows you to activate Google Home home automation controls. In the Android 15 settings, it will be possible to choose Google Home home automation controls as a screen saver. In other words, this is the same screen found when accessing the home automation quick commands section of Google Home with the device unlocked.

Circle and search more visibly, and more
With this new update, the Circle & Search feature, one of the latest innovations launched by Google that allows immediate searches on the web by circling any content displayed on the screen, receives a more visible placement in the Navigation gestures section. On top of that comes a new shortcut for customizing color contrast system-wide. Now you can also find it in the Display section of Android 15 settings.

Safe browsing on Android
Android’s Safe Browsing Mode can now be accessed and customized directly from the privacy menu in Android 15’s Settings. The new section allows you to view apps that are compatible with Safe Browsing Mode, and also to enable or disable real-time threat protection when browsing from the device.

Graphics news for Pixel Launcher and more
Some new features are arriving regarding the Android 15 interface. Here they are in detail:

– The Pixel Launcher allows you to enable full display of app names in the drawer. Longer names, previously truncated by periods, will appear on two lines. You can find the option in the Settings section of the Pixel Launcher settings app list.
– A graphics update for the screenshot preview is coming.
– Updated the Android 15 icon that appears in the status bar during a system update.

Android 15 Beta 3 is currently rolling out automatically worldwide. We remind you that this third public beta of Android 15 will arrive via OTA to everyone who has installed the first beta on a compatible Pixel (i.e. Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro).
