The Soura Association for Cultural Heritage will organize the seventh edition of the Educational Film Festival for children from summer centers which will take place from July 17 to 21, 2024 in Tamaris, Mohammedia, Bouznika and Maâmora under the theme: “Education to ceramic creation.

“The Association organizes cultural events, intellectual conferences, poetic evenings, literary and artistic exhibitions in the fields of visual arts and photography,” the organizers of this cultural event insisted. Which emphasizes the importance of training younger generations with regard to image, the development of their culture in this area, their ability to read correctly, the strengthening of their cognitive skills and communication, as well as the enrichment of their individual abilities in terms of analysis, debate, exchange and the development of their creative talents.

During this festival, a tribute will be paid to the singer and actress Souad Ouazzani and to the actor and director Abdelhak Belamjahad.

A conference-debate on “Education in cinematographic creation” will be organized during this festival with the participation of Mohamed Tarous, academic and film critic, Said El Mazouari, film critic, and Abdellah Sardaoui, academic and film critic , knowing that this meeting will be hosted by the writer and film critic Mohammed Chouika.

A master class is also planned with the director and screenwriter Azlarabe Alaoui Lamharzi and will be led by the journalist Abderrahim Erraoui, in addition to artistic workshops (interpretation workshop led by Abdellatif Khamouli, directing workshop led by Driss Chouika, cinematographic image led by Khalid El Mouatamid, cinematographic language workshop led by Samir Ezzemi and animation techniques workshop led by Mohamed Kharate) and a presentation and signing session of the books “Introduction to the history of cinema and historical cinema” and “The history of cinema in Morocco from the end of the 19th century to 1912”, by Bouchta Elmachrouh.

The festival’s artistic commission will choose ten educational short films (fiction, documentaries or animation), and will organize screenings/debates for the benefit of children from summer camps, in the presence of their directors and other participants, in order to enrich the skills of discussion, dialogue, analysis and interpretation among younger generations.

Finally, let us remember that the Soura Association for Cultural Heritage, initiator of the event, aims to achieve sustainable development in all areas. It aims to open up to all cultures and universal human values, while preserving Moroccan identity, being interested in the human element and defending the rights of children, young people and women with a view to ‘root the values ​​of citizenship and serious and lasting associative action.
