Sony has delayed the launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro in India as the telecom spectrum for Wi-Fi 7 is yet to be allocated in the country. The gaming console uses the 6 GHz frequency band for its IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) certified network radios.

Sources who spoke to Financial Express ( ) indicate that India will reserve the frequency band for India for Financial Express, India will reserve the upper part of the band (6425-7125 MHz) for telecom operators for 5G and 6G services. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) uses the network for satellite communications and has flagged potential interference issues if the band is allocated for telecommunications.
