Just Dance VR game coming to Meta Quest headsets in October

This might make some people want to purchase a virtual reality headset. And a Meta Quest in particular since it is on these headsets, properties of Meta, that the so popular dance game Just Dance: Welcome to Dancity will make its appearance, starting October 15 2024.

The game’s publisher Ubisoft announced it in a trailer posted online yesterday. Just Dance VR: Welcome to Dancity will therefore be available for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 3. A trailer that makes you want to move, it must be said, and in which you can see the possibilities that will be offered in the VR version of the game.

Just Dance: dance (and play basketball) with 5 friends

In Dancity, it will be possible to create a personalized avatar reflecting one’s physical appearance, facial features, skin color, hairstyle and clothing, from a simple selfie. Once your virtual double is ready, you will access the social hub to meet other dancers, enjoyinga personal “apartment” where up to six players can gather (in metaverse mode) to dance or do other activities like playing basketball. You can send stickers to players outside your friends list, and of course chat freely with those who are there.

The immersive experience will offer 360° environments and a new two-handed dancing gameplay with a score system. At launch, 25 hits and original music will be availableand it will be possible to dance in particular on Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, Bad Liar by Selena Gomez, Lights by Ellie Goulding, call me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen, Starships by Nicki Minaj, A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got) by Fergie ft. Q-Tip and GoonRockas well as Volar by Lele Pons ft. Susan Diaz and Victor Cardenas.

Initially planned exclusively for Pico headsets, the game changed partners after layoffs at ByteDance, and was finally developed with Meta.
