The BIG Starfield update in June is revealed, here are the new features (the mods!) | Xbox

As announced during the Xbox 2024 conference, the big Starfield update for June has just arrived. As usual, we detail all the new features, including the official arrival of mods.

Summary of what’s new in the Starfield June update

It’s quite an update that Bethesda is releasing in June for Starfield. The developers are bringing many improvements and new features, including the creation kit and new missions.

  • The Creations are here, here is the official mod support. Creative Mode is now available in Starfield. You can now access and play new content. Among the Creations, you will find new missions, equipment, skins, weapons and more! Find among the Creations of Bethesda Game Studios The Vulture, one of the new missions of the Alliance of Trackers. Creations are available in the in-game menu, and for Premium Edition owners, 1,000 Creation Credits await you there. If you want to create your own Starfield-branded content, download the Starfield Creation Kit on Steam. Please note, this is a download only available on Steam and separate from that of the game.
  • Missions Trackers Alliance. This update includes new missions in Starfield. The Tracker Alliance, in the first of a series of missions, lets you experience the life of a bounty hunter. In your first mission, The Star Thief, you will come into contact with a mysterious tracker to be found in several colonies in occupied Systems. In the second mission of the Alliance of Trackers, discover the Vulture in the new Creations menu. And what would a bounty hunter do without the right tools to do his job?
  • Bounty scanning and mission tables. This update also introduces the Bounty Scanner system which allows you to search for and bring back dead or alive targets with a bounty on their heads. If that’s not enough for you, also check out the Elite Stalker Alliance mission table.
  • Armed to the teeth. Those of you who like to tinker will be able to benefit from new levels of melee weapons and modify them during crafting. If you prefer to play on shooting power, this update also includes ammo crafting. You can research your favorite ammo at the Research Station and craft it at the Industrial Workbench!

Creations and mods are available on Starfield

Perhaps the biggest new feature in this latest update is the introduction of Creations to Starfield. From subtle alterations to ambitious adventures, Creations add countless opportunities to a universe-sized sandbox. Discover and play exciting new content from Creators and members of the Bethesda Game Studios team through the Creations menu and explore Starfield like never before.

The Creation Kit, the official tool for Starfield, can now be downloaded for free on Steam to give you the power to create new content. Any member of the community can make Creations and upload them to the dedicated platform so that everyone benefits. Would you like to turn your hobby into a professional occupation? Apply to become a verified Creator, if your application is accepted, you will have the opportunity to put your Creation online for free, like all members of the community, or to set a price for it to earn money each time you it is sold.

Trackers Alliance

Join the Tracker Alliance in a new free mission available as part of the June update. The Star Thief is the first mission in a series of bounty hunting quests. To begin your adventure with the Tracker Alliance, a mysterious tracker will introduce herself to you in several colonies in Occupied Systems. She will invite you to their Akila City HQ for a trial mission. It will then be up to you to hunt down an elusive individual wanted for ship theft, with new equipment at stake if you complete this mission successfully.

Other Trackers Alliance missions will become available regularly via the Creations menu, but you won’t have to wait long for the next one. The second mission in the series, The Vulture, is available for purchase in the Creations menu today.

To celebrate the launch of Creations, Starfield Premium Edition owners will receive 1,000 Creation Credits to spend on any content from the Creations menu, including upcoming Trackers Alliance missions.

Bounty Scanner System

Continuing the bounty hunting theme introduced with Trackers Alliance, the latest update adds a new bounty scanner system. As you explore, scan the citizens of Occupied Systems and you may discover that some have a price on their heads. From that point on, it’s up to you how to confront them: you can try to persuade them to resolve the situation peacefully… or resort to more extreme methods.

Melee Weapon Upgrades and Ammo Crafting

The June update adds levels for melee weapons, as well as the ability to upgrade them at workbenches. So, you will find melee weapons in the game that deal higher damage, and you can strengthen them even more at a workbench.

In addition to improvements to the melee weapon system, you can now study your favorite munitions at a Research Station and craft them at an Industrial Workbench! You’ll never run out of ammo again if all you have to do is create new ammo.
