Samsung does not seem to have given up on using Exynos processors in its flagship smartphones. The Geekbench database has revealed a European variant of the Galaxy S25+ with model number SM-S936B, equipped with the new Exynos 2500 processor.

Here’s what we know

This chip has a 10-core processor divided into four clusters and operates at a maximum frequency of 3.3 GHz. In Geekbench 6 testing, the device scored 2,359 in single-core mode and 8,141 in multi-core mode.

The Exynos 2500 is also equipped with an Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA architecture and supporting Vulkan 1.3. Although the performance of the Exynos 2500 processor is lower than the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, this may change when the final version of the device is released.

Samsung has confirmed that the Exynos 2500 is manufactured using the second generation 3nm process. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, just like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The release of these new models is scheduled for January 2025.
