A SF series that sets its setting in 2029
2024 is coming to an end. Year after year, the series available on SVOD platforms follow one another on our screens. An observation that we can make with the Netflix SVOD platform. In the field of science fiction for example, this year we will remember Supacell, The Three-Body Problem or even season 2 of Arcane which is likely to attract good reviews. It would still be a shame to put aside the excellent productions past on the platform, with among them Better than Us.
The series takes place in a future where androids, equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, have become full members of society. They fill a multitude of roles, from personal assistants to office workers to security guards. At the heart of the plot is Arisa, a latest generation android designed to be the perfect companion. She is sold to a family, but quickly turns out to be much more complex than expected. Arisa develops self-awareness, emotions, and an ability to learn that exceed the expectations of her creators.
At the same time, other events shake the world. Androids rebel, murders occur, and a secret organization seeks to take control of this new technology. Arisa, caught in the middle of these events, finds herself fleeing and seeking to understand her true nature.

However, we should note a more mixed success according to the rating of the specialized site IMDb, which lists it at 7.3/10. An equivalent reception in France according to the notes reported by the Allociné site with a score of 3.8/5. Very good scores which, however, are not enough to make people talk about it several years later.
