The creations of Brabus, the German transformer which has been working on Mercedes models for ages, have never been known for doing things in half measures. The famous G-Class transformed into a 6×6 pick-up is one of the best-known examples, and more recently, we invite you to research what the Brabus Big Boy 1200 is. Next to the latter, the creation here is almost very small, and yet. Based on an SL roadster, Brabus created the Rocket GTS, whose bodywork takes the form of a sporty shooting brake, to say the least.
Hyper-hybrid
This bodywork, which obviously sports a profusion of spoilers and other aerodynamic appendages, is made entirely of carbon. It retains the 2 + 2 interior architecture of the SL, and adds a trunk worthy of the name, all the better usable if you place the tailor-made luggage offered by Brabus.
What else does this bodywork hide? Widened tracks, huge forged rims fitted with aerodynamic discs, and of course an engine… that Brabus has not left alone. This is the SL E-Performance's engine, so the 4.0-liter V8 is paired with a plug-in hybrid system.
Brabus increased the engine's displacement to 4.5 liters, and its power to 796 hp. In total, the Rocket GTS claims 1,000 hp and torque (electronically limited to spare the automatic gearbox 9) at 1,620 Nm. The number of copies produced? Unknown. The price? Also, but we imagine that it has 7 digits.
