After having had a first life of interior painter and decoratorthen a second as tourism advisor and guide, the vagaries of life led Christelle Mermillod-Blondin towards a new reconversion which suits him perfectly.

With his business, Colors & WondersChristelle combines her desire to throw away less, to transform, to reuse, with her overflowing imagination to create little fairy houses and other original decorations.

Let your heart go

It was by discovering videos on social networks of an American creating little houses from plastic bottles or glass jars that Christelle the revelation that she was waiting for. A very bad forger, as she likes to say, but nourished by her medieval readingsfantasy or science fiction, she knew how to create her own universe.

“The ideas are inside me and come out on their own. Sometimes, as I move forward, the basic idea fades away but I let my imagination, my hands and also my heart go. »

Using as a basis only reused everyday objectsChristelle has the ability not to see the object as it is, but to imagine it immediately transformed. “I remember this green enameled coffee pot that I came across during a house clearance. Everything is reused

With the aim of not nothing to throw awayChristelle reuses everything that comes to hand. It could be a plastic bottle, an old garage light or even a broken stemmed glass. Sometimes using aluminum – again reused – to modify its shape, Christelle covers everything with modeling paste that hardens in the open air.

All he then has to do is indulge in painting and decorating. Again, everything is reused. Piano candlestick, clockwork, screws, shells, wire, spool… Everything can have a second life. “We must not believe that because it doesn’t look like anything, it won’t be of any use”; assures Christelle.

This is how, according to his imagination and from her findings, Christelle creates magical houses, wooden crate chalets, candlesticks not found elsewhere or Steam punk pistols, inspired by the world of Jules Vernes.

It makes children and adults dream!

thinking make children dreamChristelle realizes that it is ultimately adults who dream the most. “This reassures me, I tell myself that the world is not totally lost. I am the fairy builder of these little houses but afterward, everyone makes it their own. We all have our universe, our vision, and that’s what makes the world beautiful. »

Very present on the trade fairs and marketsChristelle regularly gets the question “What’s the point?” » If this question upset her at one time, she no longer pays attention to it and answers:

“It’s used to dream, to marvel, and that’s already very good.”
