what is this new connected object launched by Nintendo?

It is neither a console nor a video game, and yet the Nintendo brand announced this Wednesday, October 9, the launch of a new connected object from January 2025 called Alarmo.

“Bringing a touch of Nintendo into your home.” The Japanese brand Nintendo announced this Wednesday, October 9, the launch of a brand new connected object. This is Alarmo, an interactive alarm clock which will be available from January 2025.

“Nintendo’s musical alarm clock: Alarmo is equipped with a sensor that reacts to your movements, for example to interrupt the alarm, or to turn off the alarm clock when getting out of bed,” detailed the Japanese brand.

It will thus be possible to wake up to the sounds of five flagship video games: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4 and Ring Fit Adventure. Other games will subsequently be downloadable for free via updates.

Sleep monitoring

For each game, Nintendo announced that seven themes (called “scenes” by the brand) will be available, as well as sound effects that will sound every time the sleeper moves to allow them to wake up more quickly.

In addition to the alarm function, Nintendo touted the other options of its Alarmo, including sleep tracking. The device tracks movements made during the night in real time using its sensor.

The device also offers calmer sounds also taken from its worlds to help you fall asleep and promote sleep. Finally, like a clock, the Alarmo can ring every hour of the day with specific noises.
