The Vaudois, who recorded the return of Michael Raffl, had nevertheless started ideally after opening the scoring in the 8th thanks to Glauser on a pass from…Raffl. The 2-0 fell in the 13th from the cane of Lukas Frick after a determined climb. The future Davosian’s shot was deflected by a Norwegian.

The Lions should have folded during the middle third, but Jason Fuchs was unable to take advantage of a caviar from Théo Rochette to make it 3-0. On the contrary, it was the Norwegians who returned to the game with a little luck on a success from Pappalardo (29th), then who equalized in the 58th through Salsten. And in overtime, a stupid penalty from Raffl allowed the Scandinavians to be in power play and win.

But with their 11 points, the Vaudois are assured of being in the top 16 and therefore in the round of 16, like Zurich.

More complicated for Geneva

Exiled to Neuchâtel, Geneva experienced the same match as their Lake Geneva colleagues. The Genevans led 2-0 to finally lose 3-2 after Klagenfurt.

The GSHC was also fortunate to be able to count on the return of an injured player in the person of Sami Vatanen. And like Raffl with the LHC, the Finn wasted no time in opening the scoring with a power play in the 21st. The Eagles then took two steps ahead thanks to Alessio Bertaggia (29th), but on an error they let the Austrians come back at the end of the middle period by giving too much space to Obersteiner (39th). Klagenfurt came back to the level in the 46th before finally picking up a second point in the 64th thanks to Fraser on a well-executed counterattack and following a Geneva blunder in the offensive zone.

The Garnet still have one match to play in Hungary next Tuesday against Fehervar, who have five defeats in as many matches. Jan Cadieux’s men are currently 18th with 7 points, but everything remains open for them.
