WhatsApp is a very practical application for staying in touch with loved ones, but the proliferation of discussion groups within it can make the experience unpleasant, as the notifications keep coming on the screen of our smartphone. Even more so when we want a little peace and quiet.
Of course, we can turn off notifications, but then we risk missing important messages, which could be detrimental. But WhatsApp will soon come up with a solution to fix this problem.
Indeed, as revealed by the specialized site WABetaInfo, the instant messaging application will soon offer us the ability to filter notifications. In the ‘Notifications’ section, two options will be available to the user: “All” or “Relevant to me”. If the user chooses the “All” option he will receive all notifications, without exception. On the other hand, if they choose the “Relevant to me” option, the user will only receive notifications about mentions, replies and other important interactions.
Thanks to the “Relevant to me” option, the user should gain peace of mind, while ensuring that they do not miss important messages.
Note that WhatsApp already sends notifications when a discussion is muted, particularly in the event of mentions and replies to a message. But WhatsApp now wants to make this feature more visible and accessible for its users.
At this time, we do not yet know when this new feature will be rolled out.
