iOS 18.1 beta 6, all the new features: Changes in the Control Center, improvements to Notifications, Apple Intelligence and much more

The official launch of iOS 18.1 is approaching and Apple continues to refine some details in Beta 6 of the operating system. This first major update of iOS 18 arrives with a multitude of new features, and this sixth beta is further proof. With new features in the Control Center, notifications, Apple Music, the Health application and Apple Intelligence, let’s review the list of new features in this latest beta.

Small details throughout the system

• In this update we have new controls for the Control Center. It is now possible to add toggles AirDrop et Satellite as individual buttons. A change from the previous version, where these two buttons were only available from the connectivity group control.
• Additionally, two new controls have been added for the app Measure : one dedicated to the measurement itself and the other for the level function.
• On iPhone 16s, the Camera Control displays a visual indication in the form of a line when we lightly press it.
• From now on, when several notifications are grouped and a number is displayed on the group icon, this number will adopt the color of the wallpaper.
• When it comes to Apple Intelligence, new Home screens have been added in several apps like Mail, App Store and Messageshighlighting the features offered by the system’s artificial intelligence, such as message summaries, priority messages and intelligent replies.
• In the Notes app, the Apple Intelligence button now has a small pencil next to it.
• New option for share songs directly from Apple Music to TikTok. With a simple tap on “Share Song,” we can upload a song as a video or photo to TikTok, automatically embedding the audio in the post. A functionality similar to that presented with Instagram, although in this case TikTok allows the sound to accompany the publication in a more dynamic way.
• The camera and microphone access indicators that appear in Control Center now have a new animation.
• If we installed the watchOS 11.1 beta on the Apple Watch we will see that sleep apnea detection function is already available.

Looking at the list, iOS 18.1 beta 6 introduces a considerable list of small improvements focused on customization, usability and functionality. New Control Center controls, notification improvements, and preparation for Apple Intelligence integration are just some of the new features that take this release a step further. With the official launch scheduled for October 28, we will soon be able to enjoy these and other new features on our devices.
