Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging technology could receive an update with the iPhone 16, according to molds for future protections. The rumor concerns his appearance, which could receive a (very) little makeover.

This rumor was spread by Shop System, which exclusively received a photo of molds for cases intended for the four versions of the iPhone 16. These are not molds manufactured by Apple directly, but by protection manufacturers, who are very well informed of what is happening within the iPhone production chain.
According to Shop System the ring will be thinner:
Contrary to expectations, the MagSafe ring on the iPhone 16 will not be larger. Our exclusive images indicate that it would actually be thinner than that of the iPhone 15 series models. This reduction in thickness could mean improvements in Apple’s wireless charging technology, helping to reduce bulk while maintaining or improving charging performance.

Despite a smaller design, MagSafe accessories will undoubtedly continue to work with the iPhone 16. This will also require a little more work for companies that will produce MagSafe accessories specifically for the iPhone 16, as Apple Insider specifies:
The change may have a number of impacts on the iPhone 16, such as requiring accessory suppliers to change their designs to accommodate. The change may also mean that Apple is reducing the amount of magnetic material used or simply adjusting the positioning.
Photos once again confirm the rumor
This new image of the supposed iPhone 16 case molds once again confirms the rumor that its rear cameras will be vertically aligned. As a reminder, this alignment would allow the iPhone 16 to film spatial videos, like the iPhone 15 Pro.
Furthermore, the iPhone 16 Pro should be larger, so that Apple can accommodate a tetraprism periscope lens, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 is also expected to be larger than the 15, as the size of the base model of the iPhone, and the Pro model, is always the same, within a few millimeters.
