IKEA home automation sensors for different uses: the Ikea Parasoll, the Ikea Vallhorn and the Ikea Badring

IKEA has unveiled three new sensors dedicated to your home security: the Ikea Parasoll, the Ikea Vallhorn and the Ikea Badring. These are three sensors for different uses. The Parasoll is an opening and closing detector designed to attach to a door or window. However, the Vallhorn is a motion detector that is positioned on the wall. The Badring protects the house against water leaks because it sits on the ground. It will not only be able to generate notifications, but also trigger a siren announced at 60 dB (A).

In order to automate certain tasks, these three sensors can work with Ikea’s Dirigera ecosystem. They are compatible with the Home application or Amazon Alexa Smart Home and Google Home. Small downside however, these sensors are not compatible with the Thread protocol of the Matter consortium. The three new products will be launched by Ikea in the first half of 2024 in the States. They are each offered for a particularly affordable price of less than 10 dollars. For the moment, prices and availability in France have not yet been announced. Xiaomi prepares to launch Redmi Note 13 series globally

The three devices Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ are finally available in the international market. This series respectively integrates the Dimensity 6 080, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and the Dimensity 7 200 Ultra. XIAOMI has introduced hyperos, Xiaomi’s new operating system which succeeds MIUI. Redmi Note 13 benefits from a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is offered in four memory capacities: 6 GB/128 GB, 8 GB /128 GB, 8 GB/256 GB and 12 GB/256 GB. The Redmi Note 13 Pro has an OLED screen. The battery is a Li-Po model which has a capacity of 5,100 mAh.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is equipped with a curved panel. Its characteristics are almost identical to those of the Pro version. This has three memory capacities: 12 GB/256 GB, 12 GB/512 GB and 16 GB/512 GB. Unlike the Redmi Note 13 which only has two cameras of 108 MP and 2 MP on the back, The Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ have a back module consisting of a 200 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP macro lens. Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ with a 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery compatible with 120 watts fast charging. Xiaomi offers the Redmi Note range with affordable prices under 500 euros.

Huawei’s MatePad Pro: a new 13.2-inch tablet

Huawei has just unveiled the MatePad Pro, a high-end tablet like no other. It is the thinnest and lightest tablet in the world with an edge-to-edge screen with a thickness of 5.5 mm and a weight of 580 g. It benefits from an OLED screen. This displays a definition of 28,880 x 1,920 pixels, with a maximum brightness announced at 1,000 cd/m². The screen is compatible with the brand’s 3rd generation M-Pen stylus. The MatePad Pro has 6 speakers that run on Huawei’s operating system, HarmonyOS 4.0.

The tablet is equipped with the Kirin 9000s SoC. In addition, it has 52,000 mm² of high thermal conductivity graphite for heat dissipation. On the photo side, it benefits from a double back module of 13 Mpx and 8 Mpx for the ultra wide-angle module as well as a 16 Mpx front sensor accompanied by a ToF sensor. The tablet integrates a 10,000 mAh battery compatible with 88 W charging. The MatePad Pro 13.2 is available on Huawei’s home market in China for 5,199 yuan (€672) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and 6,999 yuan (€905) with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The MatePad Pro has been available in France since January with an introductory price of €999.99.
