Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
If there’s One game we’re eagerly awaiting in May, it’s him. Hellblade II is a long-awaited title, very long in fact, to the point where we wondered if it would ever be released. The latter is finally arriving quickly and it will be for Tuesday 21… and directly on the Game Pass! Because yes, it is a major Xbox exclusive and tailor-made by Ninja Theory, a talented English studio to which we already owe quite a few gems like the first Hellblade, DmC Devil May Cry or Heavenly Sword. Here the British promise first of all an ultra-accomplished visual spectacle: Hellblade II is well on its way to being the most beautiful game on Xbox Series and perhaps one of the most flashy in short. It’s not just a question of graphics, but of atmosphere since the firm has gone all out on an absolutely Dantesque atmosphere, skillfully navigating between terror, madness and wonder. And without speaking a completely crazy sound design and combat animations announced as revolutionary. In short, an action-adventure game that makes us stamp our feet with impatience for which we cross our fingers until our knuckles crack: if it is a damp squib, the blow would be far too hard Microsoft. But we believe it!

System Shock
In 1994, Looking Glass Studios released System Shock, a cult FPS whose story takes place in the Citadel space station. Its sequel, System Shock 2, will take the basics and will serve as a testing ground for Ken Levine, the creator of the BioShock saga. As a result, the two series are closely linked and this is greatly felt: doing System Shock in 2024 is a nice way to somewhat rediscover the origin of Rapture, but also the opportunity to rebuild our culture. The problem is that this science fiction FPS has aged quite a bit… and that’s why Night Dive Studios worked for years on a remake! Released last year on PC, this ultra-careful overhaul, respectful of the original material and still supported by modernized mechanics, is a real good vintage. It was therefore missing to be available on home consoles and it will finally be done on May 21! Let’s also remember that wandering the corridors of Citadel will only be a first step since System Shock II Remastered is planned for one of these four.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
No, you’re not crazy: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was released quite a while ago now. So to speak, it was 2016, eight years ago (outch). However, Bandai Namco intends to exploit its baby to the end and that is why this unbridled action game is found here: it will be released on May 24 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, with even a boxed version on the program. Attention physical game aficionados therefore, even if the upgrade will be free for owners of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version! This current-gen version will therefore be accompanied 4K resolution and a perfect framerate, but also brand new DLC announced last October. These would offer, among other things, a new story, new characters and other surprises… In short, a final version for all fans of Toriyama’s manga. And a great opportunity to smash heads with a big blow of Kamé Hamé Ha, which will not hurt anyone except the main person concerned.

MultiVersus
Few fighting games can compete with Super Smash Brawl. Ultimate: among all those who have tried their hand at it, many have broken their teeth… but there is still MultiVersus which has managed to do well in the game. As a reminder, it was first offered in 2022 by through an open beta which was a real success: this time, the production of Player First Games returns and in its full version. Honestly, there’s something to look forward to: it’s a free-to-play game that likes to mix franchises and characters belonging to the giant Warner Bros. We therefore find, for the moment, a cast of twenty-two characters including Batman, Tom and Jerry, The Iron Giant, Taz, Superman, Rick and Morty, Gizmo and Stripe from the Gremlins, LeBron James (yes), Bugs Bunny, Harley Quinn, Arya Stark from Game of Thrones… In short, plenty to do. So yes, the software obviously relies on a whole system of micro-transactions due to its free system, but it nonetheless remains a very big project to monitor like milk on the fire. In any case, Warner Bros. is betting a lot on it and it must be admitted that it has the potential to last for years, and therefore become by far the most serious of Nintendo’s opponents and perhaps one of the best brawlers in short. We’ll see.
