For a while now, finding an AMD graphics card from MSI has been complicated. This is even more the case at the moment on the RX 7000 even though they are officially in the brand’s catalog. We will think in particular of the Radeon RX 7900 XT GAMING TRIO CLASSIC 20G. However, among the green competitor, the references are multiplying with new variations such as the RTX 4080 Super EXPERT. If we explore the brand’s catalog, we can count 147 models of GeForce RTX 40 Series cards, compared to 4 for the Radeon RX 7000 series…And which are neither visible nor available.
MSI has quietly pulled the plug on its Radeon graphics card lineup
Our colleague HardwareLuxx was able to ask MSI the question to understand that these were the company’s choices. The answer has the merit of being very clear:
When it comes to graphics cards, we are currently focusing more on RTX cards. Nevertheless, the collaboration with AMD is essential and extremely relevant for us. We are seeing very positive developments, particularly in the area of motherboards.
A few years ago, Nvidia put some pressure on its partners regarding competing cards in their catalog. A position which could lead, unofficially, to less easy deliveries of RTX GPUs even though the latter represent a large majority of sales on the market. But this time, it seems MSI just wants to focus on the core of the market. The brand has therefore chosen to favor Nvidia while not closing its doors to AMD. In this regard, the red motherboards are strongly pushed by MSI. If MSI does not indicate that it has decided to stop graphics cards based on AMD chips, it does not say the opposite either.

However, if MSI were to withdraw from the Radeon card business, Asus and Gigabyte would remain among the well-known brands. Note that these two brands are discreet with Radeon cards too. At the same time, Acer, which is launching into the segment, is banking heavily on AMD cards.
