Roger On, Phonak’s microphone, won a bronze medal at the Edison Awards 2024 in the assistive devices and technologies category. It is a jury made up of business leaders, former winners and experts who each year designate the winners of this international competition for innovations having a positive impact on the world.

Roger On, launched in 2021, aims to help people with hearing aids to hear and understand presentations or conversations despite the distance. It detects voices and where they are coming from and makes automatic adjustments. A headset function was added in 2023, to provide patients with two-way audio streaming, particularly useful for videoconferencing. “Roger On is like a third ear for hearing aid and cochlear implant userssummarizes Laurent Saada, general manager of Sonova Communications. This accomplishment [la remise du prix par les Edison Awards] arrives at the same time as we celebrate the milestone of 100,000 human connections made possible thanks to Roger On. » Since its launch, it has been rewarded several times: it appears in particular in the Red Dot and iF Design Awards as well as in Time Magazine’s list of best inventions for the year 2021.
