Flashback to 1985, and Tamiya Incorporated, a Japanese manufacturer of plastic models and radio-controlled vehicles, launched what would become the favorite toy of a generation.

The radio-controlled vehicle, reference 58050, is called the Wild One buggy. With its lightweight and durable polycarbonate body, figurine driver and large tires, the little buggy is a huge success all over the world.

Life size

Enough to get the imagination going and make you dream, why not of a “real life” version of a real buggy on a scale of 1. A dream about to become reality in 2024.

The Little Car Company is reviving the 1980s remote-controlled car as a real two-seater off-road vehicle for big kids.

500 kg and 200 km of autonomy

A perfect replica of the Tamiya Wild One, it returns life-size transformed into an electric vehicle, approved for the road.

The Little Car Company is not new to this, having created 1/3 scale versions of the Bugatti Type-35, the Aston Martin DB5 and the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. Vehicles dedicated to children, but this time the Wild One buggy is accessible to adults.

For two adults

The vehicle measures 3.6 m in length and 1.9 m in width. The Little Car Company also developed a windscreen and wiper mechanism to improve the practicality of the car.

The buggy seats two adults and gets a pair of Cobra bucket seats with four-point harnesses, a five-inch dashboard screen, Brembo disc brakes and adjustable Bilstein shock absorbers with Eibach springs.

The ground clearance is 270 mm while the weight of the machine is only 500 kg with the batteries.

Approved for road use

Powered by eight interchangeable batteries with a total capacity of 14.4 kWh, the Wild One Max is capable of reaching a top speed of 100 km/h for a range of 200 km on the road and 110 km off-road.

The manufacturer announces that the Wild One meets the L7e quadricycle regulations in the UK and EU.

An approval that could allow it to enter the Citroën AMI category. The announced sale price is around €35,000 in England. Will we see this buggy in ? The manufacturer has not confirmed this to us.
