She is one of the most famous and successful tennis players in Germany. She reached a top 10 place in the world rankings twice. But her career was also marked by injuries and setbacks. Tommi Schmitt welcomes Andrea Petković in his adopted home of Cologne. They stroll through Cologne’s green belt and swing their tennis rackets on a tennis court. The two talk about what drove her as a tennis player and how she managed to rise to the tennis elite. What many people don’t know: Andrea Petković’s second great passion is literature. She began writing herself as a teenager – wrote columns for renowned newspapers and published her first book in 2020. An autofiction about her childhood and youth in Darmstadt. And what many people don’t know: Tommi has a good eye for interior design. So the two visit a vintage furniture store in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and talk about lonely hotel nights and the meaning of home. In each episode, Tommi Schmitt spends an intensive and exciting day with his guest. Firstly, Tommi and the viewer get to know their guest and secondly, the viewer gets to know Tommi better and in a different way. This leads to entertaining conversations and special moments – sometimes deep, sometimes funny, and in the best case both. In June, the successful late night show “Studio Schmitt” went into its summer break. But presenter Tommi Schmitt will be going “OUTSIDE” four times this summer with a prominent guest.
