Police report

A dispute between two men in Baden prompted a major police operation on Saturday morning. One of the brawlers fired several shots at his 34-year-old opponent, who was injured. The suspected shooter was arrested.

The police were alerted at around four in the morning that several shots had been fired in Baden near a hotel on Mellingerstrasse, the Aargau cantonal police announced on Saturday afternoon. They found an injured male person in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene. The 34-year-old Swiss man was taken to hospital after receiving first aid from police officers.

According to police reports, based on initial findings and statements from informants, one person quickly became the focus of the manhunt. A 33-year-old Swiss man from the region was subsequently arrested at his home shortly after the incident. The public prosecutor’s office has opened proceedings and the Aargau cantonal police have begun investigations. (sda)
