Serena Williams arrived this Sunday, September 1st, without a racket or a cap, at the US Open. The tennis player came accompanied by her great friend, the singer Alicia Keys. Together, they cheered on Grigor Dimitrov in the middle of a fight against Andrey Rublev.

Very close, the two women let their joy burst forth during this very close match. Alternating between selfies, applause and bursts of laughter, the atmosphere was there. On her Twitter account, Alicia Keys shared some photos of this beautiful day at Corona Park in New York.

Alicia Keys and the Williams sisters, a long-standing friendship

The 43-year-old singer is not only friends with Serena Williams, but also with her older sister Venus. Last April, the two women posed together at the photocall for the “Breakthrough Prize” ceremony.

Five years ago, the “Girl on Fire” singer spoke out in an interview with the BBC, a few months after Serena Williams’ defeat at the 2018 US Open: “Serena, you are an example of grace and prowess! You are an inspiration to everyone. Your goal to be a leader and a light is a gift in this world. We love you and we thank you for sharing your excellence.”

A major support that she concluded thus: “Serena is like a sister to me, I love her style, I love who she is”
