During the FSPF’s weekly Live, Philippe Besset launched an online survey among colleagues so that they could detail their use of antigen tests. The idea? Use field feedback to “put forward our arguments in favor of maintaining reimbursement for these tests”explains the president of the FSPF. Arguments that he began to deploy 7 days earlier, after the draft decree aimed at repealing the exceptional measures linked to the health crisis was transmitted, on January 14, by the Ministry of Health.
Philippe Besset nevertheless retains one positive point: his request, at a minimum, to wait for the end of the flu epidemic to publish such a decree has been heard. “This means that the debate will last until the beginning of spring”he added. A period of time that he intends to use to convince the government to bring these Trod into common law.

Arguments to convince

Premier argument : “The Trods can be used to monitor epidemics of influenza, Covid-19 and RSV”pharmacists now have combined tests for these three pathologies. A subject on which the union is working with the ambition of seeing the birth “a real Grog type network [groupes régionaux d’observation de la grippe, NDLR]which will allow us to monitor epidemics as closely as possible at the time of detection in pharmacies [comme nous le faisions] with the Si-DEP platform ». Second argument: detecting Covid-19, the flu or even RSV at the pharmacy immediately allows “give the patient what to do “. Third argument: the Trods contribute to “the fight against antibiotic resistance” by ruling out bacterial infections. “Trod angina, for example, shows that only 10% of tonsillitis are of bacterial origin, which allows us to eliminate antibiotics in nine out of ten cases. »
So many arguments that the president of the FSPF intends to put forward based on the online survey that he has just launched. Pharmacists have until January 31 to respond.
