Young Boys returns to the Champions League this evening at 9:00 p.m. The Bernese will face Celtic Glasgow in Scotland: a perilous mission for a team which has disappointed a lot this season.
Currently last in the ranking after six defeats, they hope to do better against an opponent who occupies 21st place with 9 points. But YB will obviously be far from being favorite. At home, pushed by a fanatical public, Celtic are often formidable.
Leader of their championship with a comfortable lead of 13 points over Glasgow Rangers, Brendan Rodgers’ men know that a success against Young Boys can allow them to continue their journey after the eight matches of the group stage. For their part, the men of new coach Giorgio Contini have nothing more to hope for in C1, being already certain of being eliminated.
And it is not the poor 0-0 conceded against Winterthur on Saturday during the resumption of the Super League which will boost the players’ confidence.
