the essential
Marciac is starting 2025 on the right foot, after his victory (15-7) at La Sape this Sunday January 12 against Bas-Armagnac Rugby Club. With a single success after 11 days, the BARC further consolidates its place as the red lantern.
There are days when we wonder why we face the cold on a Sunday afternoon on the edges of a rugby field… Of course, it was a replay match. Certainly, the Sape terrain was at the limit of passability. But that does not explain the distressing spectacle put on by the two teams.

Everything started well for the locals with a valiant start to the match, quickly rewarded by a try from center L. Vaccaro in the 6th minute of play, converted by flyhalf P. Bruggiafeddo.
Alas, the rest was only a succession of blunders, in touch, in defense, on the restart… So much so that in the 15th minute, the BARC center, K. Anastase reviewed the entire Marciacaise defense powerless to come equalize under the posts.
Ninth defeat in eleven days for BARC
The break came with the score 10 to 7 after a penalty from Bruggiafreddo in the 21st minute. The second half was just as difficult and we had to wait until the 65th minute to see the score evolve in favor of ASM, thanks to a try from pillar Plante.

Some will undoubtedly be satisfied with this pale victory at home against the bottom of the group, but must be worried one week before the reception of Panjas, the undisputed leader of the group, next Sunday. The BARC will welcome Montestruc-sur-Gers.
