The descent from Sankt Anton smiled on the Italians. Federica Brignone won her first success in the discipline, while Laura Pirovano ranked 3rd, 0.43 seconds behind her compatriot. The Swiss finished much further behind.

A mistake, a turn too wide and Lara Gut-Behrami was able to say goodbye to a good result (12th, 0”87 behind Brignone). The most frustrating thing for the Ticino woman was that she had bib number 11 and therefore saw that this passage had caused problems for a few competitors before her.

Without this fault, the skier from Comano could have claimed a place on the podium and therefore followed the winner of the day. The athlete from Val d’Aosta won the first downhill of his brilliant career and his 30th World Cup success.

Lindsey Vonn 5e

Behind the Valdôtaine, we find the Czech Ester Ledecka just 0”18 behind with the best time at the bottom. The Italian Laura Pirovano completed the podium, while Lindsey Vonn took a magnificent 5th place, 0.15″ from the podium. At 40, the American proves that she is one of the legends of her sport.

The overall result for the Swiss is very mixed. Corinne Suter took 14th place, also making a mistake in the same place as her compatriot. Michelle Gisin is still looking for herself with her 19th place, while Delia Durrer and Joana Hählen finished beyond the top-30.
