Ploërmel begins 2025 with the reception of Quessoy on Sunday. The opportunity for the partners of captain Maël Le Du to continue their merry way in the first quarter of the ranking.
R1. Ploërmel – Quessoy Sunday (3 p.m.)
How do you judge this first part of the season?
Our ambition at the start was to maintain it as quickly as possible. This is still far from being finalized because the field is very tight. With two or three defeats, you can quickly find yourself at the bottom playing more complicated matches. You have to do the job every weekend. There isn’t much room for error.
What are your strengths this season?
We know each other well. There is a real group of friends. We embrace our style of play. We like to have the ball by using our 3-5-2 well. It’s a strength for us. We need to be a little more killer on both surfaces in certain matches.
With Théo Rouillé, you get along very well behind…
Yes. There is also Ilann (Gibert), Axel (Renaud). With Théo, we’ve been playing together for four years. We know each other well. But like Axel or Ilann. In the end, in the team, it doesn’t matter who plays what position, we manage to adapt and everyone can perform well. We know each other’s strengths.
Does the arrival of Maxime Boittin in the middle also bring you something?
Yes. He technically brings his touch. He also has experience at the N3 level that most other players don’t have. We are young. We have always only known Ploërmel in R1. It’s cool to have players like that to strengthen us.
-What are the goals for this month of January?
Continue to play leading roles if you can. We are 3rd, three points from the lead. The idea is to validate this maintenance as quickly as possible and to grab places at the top to be able to play even more interesting and important matches.
Is there a long-term objective of moving up to N3?
It’s a desire that we all have. But today, we make too many mistakes to allow ourselves to say that. We concede goals stupidly. We have waste in many areas of the game. We need to progress in many aspects if we want to get there. But this is not a goal of the club at the moment.
